As part of the celebration of Panamanian Journalist Day, the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP), through its Public Relations Directorate, launched its first digital, governmental, and international magazine, Viento y Marea: A State on Your Side. The magazine aims to promote Panama’s maritime image, services, and projects on the global stage, following the guidelines of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
This digital publication, accessible via www.amp.gob.pa/revistavientoymarea and www.amp.gob.pa/vientoymareamagazine, documents the work of highly qualified personnel immersed in the history of the world’s first ship registry, the Panamanian merchant marine, its seafarers, and the ongoing logistical efforts from the country’s main ports.
The first issue highlights the PMA’s steadfast commitment to preserving the marine environment, as well as the honest and professional work of Panama’s seafarers. It also covers the entity’s operational focus, the significant technological advancements that are streamlining processes for clients and business partners, and the institution’s social responsibility initiatives benefiting vulnerable communities.
Viento y Marea will circulate globally in both Spanish and English through the various technical documentation offices (SEGUMAR), maintaining a steady connection with shipowners, shipping companies, seafarers, and end beneficiaries of the maritime transport chain. It will serve as a reference to Panama’s role in the global maritime industry and its vision for the future.
