PMA PARTICIPATES IN NISSEN KAIUN CO., LTD. OFFICERS AND CREW CONFERENCE IN THE PHILIPPINES

The Panama Maritime Authority (PMA) played a prominent role in the Nissen Kaiun Co., Ltd. Officers and Crew Conference, held in Piñas City, Philippines.

Eng. Rafael Eysseric, the Regional Head of Segumar in Manila, represented the PMA at the event and delivered an analysis of Panama’s Port State Control initiatives. He emphasized the proactive measures Panama has implemented to ensure compliance with regulations and reduce ship detentions.

These initiatives include pre-arrival vessel inspections, improved crew training programs, periodic audits and inspections, and strict protocols covering maintenance, safety, and environmental protection.

The Nissen Kaiun Co., Ltd. Officers and Crew Conference is an annual gathering of key maritime industry stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, ship management companies, crew management firms, and officers. It serves as a platform for sharing knowledge and best practices within the sector.

The primary goal of this conference is to enhance maritime safety, ensure compliance with international regulations, and promote best practices across the industry.

The event concluded with a call for increased collaboration among all stakeholders to improve safety and regulatory adherence in the global maritime sector.
