The Panama Maritime Authority (PMA) participated in the 2025 edition of Sea Asia, one of the premier maritime industry events in the Asia-Pacific region, held as part of Singapore Maritime Week. On this occasion, the Panamanian pavilion was honored with the “Most Experimental Booth” award, presented by the event organizers.

The pavilion’s official opening was led by the Chief Executive of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, Teo Eng Dih, alongside Alexander De Gracia, Deputy Administrator of the PMA, and Sebastián Breton, Panama’s Ambassador to Singapore.

The Panamanian delegation included senior officials from the PMA, such as Maryluz Castillo, Director General of Seafarers; Ramón Franco, Director General of the Merchant Marine; and Silvia de Marucci, Director of International Promotion at ProPanama.

As part of the event’s conference program, Panama participated in the “Country Hotspot” segment with the presentation titled “Why Panama?”—an opportunity to showcase the country’s competitive advantages in the maritime and logistics sectors. The session was opened by Ambassador Breton and featured Panamanian representatives who highlighted the benefits for companies seeking to establish operations in Panama. They also emphasized the country’s strong track record as a flag of choice, along with the capabilities of its Seafarers and Merchant Marine.

Sea Asia, organized by Informa Markets and the Singapore Maritime Foundation, is held biennially to foster knowledge exchange, strategic partnerships, and innovation within the maritime industry. The 2025 edition brought together over 20,000 attendees from approximately 90 countries, with 500 exhibitors and 100 international speakers in attendance.
